Health & Nutrition

We know that our students' health is foundational to mental acuity and academic retention. We provide free and unlimited fresh drinking water to our students throughout the school day.

Every Thursday and during special occasions we offer a free of cost mid-day meal, known as Narayan Seva, as seen in many of the pictures and videos. This meal is often sweet rice, vegetable rice, lentils, or the children's favorite, pulihora, which is rice with masala, tamarind, lemon, salt, seeds, peas, and other small vegetables.

With sufficient funding and a dedicated kitchen staff, our goal is to provide the mid-day meal daily. Among all donations, food is the most essential. Lending your hand to help feed our children throughout their school day with even a small donation makes a big difference. Currently this meal’s estimated cost is $1 per serving.

We demand a standard of good hygiene from our students while attending school. Providing free uniforms and requiring that our students display cleanliness and dress neatly has been shown to improve self confidence and instill sense of professionalism.

In the afternoon after the day's classes we host various games, drills, and cultural activities for the students to promote physical and mental health. Children are always bustling with energy and excitement, and by giving them the space and freedom to be active they are able to relieve the sedentary stress that accumulates throughout the day.
